Digitability Curriculum Concepts: Financial Literacy, Functional Academics

Directions for this Extension Activity:
In this activity, students will plan how to use a set budget for back-to-school shopping. Using a list of possible school supplies, clothing, and other essentials, students will decide what to buy while staying within their spending limit. They will use math to calculate costs, compare options, and justify their choices. Once their budget is complete, students will present their shopping list and explain how they prioritized their purchases and why their choices make sense financially.
Incorporating Bankability:
Throughout this activity, students can earn dollars for staying on task, presenting to the class, and helping their peers during the activity. This encourages participation, positive behavior, and peer support. Current Bankability users can integrate these earnings into their classroom economy. No Bankability account?
