EPISODE 11: THIS CLASSROOM USED TECH TO TRANSFORM THEIR COFFEE BUSINESS
New Jersey Vocational Life Skills Classroom Creates Website for Coffee Orders
Lauren Alvarez, a High School Vocational Teacher at the Edison Township Public Schools, uses the Digitability Work Simulation to operate a growing coffee business. Last year, with the help of her differentiated lesson plans, her students were able to create a website for their classroom-run coffee company. Using this website, students are learning how to advertise and take online orders to sell coffee, tea, and other drinks in their school.
With Digitability Social Economy, a workplace behavior training model, each student in the class was able to expand their social and communication skills, while receiving instruction in both in-person virtual settings. As the coffee shop continues to operate, students will be able to learn more about customer service, problem-solving, interpreting feedback, and more.
