National Coffee Day
In this activity, students will plan how to spend a set budget to purchase bulk items for their fictional coffee shop. Using a list of available products such as coffee beans, milk, cups, flavor syrups, and other essentials. Students will decide what to buy while staying within their spending limit. They will use math skills to calculate total costs, compare prices and quantities, and consider trade-offs. As they work through budgeting scenarios, students will make thoughtful decisions based on business goals, customer demand, and financial constraints. Once their budget is complete, students will present their final supply order and explain how they prioritized items, managed their money, and ensured their coffee shop is ready for business.
