C3 Artisans
Lockport Township High School
Lockport, Illinois
18-22 Transition
The C3 Artisans project at Lockport Township High School is a student-led work simulation created through the Career and Community Connections (CCC) transition program for students ages 18–22. In partnership with Digitability and Bankability, students operate a “C3 Artisans” pop-up shop where they develop workplace readiness, communication, and independent living skills through hands-on vocational experiences. Students take on a variety of professional roles including creative design, inventory management, product labeling, order fulfillment, and tracking shirt colors and sizes for customer orders. Based on their individual interests and strengths, students create and sell a wide range of products including handmade bracelets, keychains, tote bags, custom stickers, pressed shirts, painted cups, soap, coffee, and baked goods. This engaging project provides students with meaningful real-world experience while helping them build confidence, teamwork, organization, and career-ready skills in a supportive environment.
About the Digitability Work Simulation Program
Digitability believes that skills are best learned through real-world experience and application. That’s why Digitability created the Work Simulation Program: a complete curriculum that teaches work-ready skills in a hands-on way you won’t find anywhere else.
After choosing their classroom’s Work Simulation project, students are “hired” for jobs and begin practicing workplace behavior, managing tasks, using tech skills for independence, self-advocating, self-regulating and more.
Digitability Work Simulations include Bankability, a virtual banking and workplace behavior program where students earn virtual dollars when they exhibit behaviors that will make them successful in the workplace and increase their independence. Using those dollars earned, students experience a modern banking app while learning the fundamentals of budgeting concepts such as earning, spending, and saving.
