Exceptional Creations Blooms and More
East Haven High School
Marion, Indiana
18-21 Transition
Exceptional Creations Blooms and More is a dynamic work simulation project where students create a variety of handcrafted items that are sold throughout the year, with a special focus during the holiday season. Recently, we launched the Exceptional Floral Club, where staff members receive themed "fake" floral arrangements for occasions like Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, and a Spring-themed arrangement. Next year, we plan to expand this initiative to cover the entire school year. In addition to floral arrangements, students craft a variety of products, including Tic Tac Toe boards, candles, sugar scrubs, cookie mixes, chocolates, and chapstick. This project provides students with hands-on experience in product creation, customer service, and entrepreneurship, all while fostering creativity and teamwork.
About the Digitability Work Simulation Program
Digitability believes that skills are best learned through real-world experience and application. That’s why Digitability created the Work Simulation Program: a complete curriculum that teaches work-ready skills in a hands-on way you won’t find anywhere else.
After choosing their classroom’s Work Simulation project, students are “hired” for jobs and begin practicing workplace behavior, managing tasks, using tech skills for independence, self-advocating, self-regulating and more.
Digitability Work Simulations include Bankability, a virtual banking and workplace behavior program where students earn virtual dollars when they exhibit behaviors that will make them successful in the workplace and increase their independence. Using those dollars earned, students experience a modern banking app while learning the fundamentals of budgeting concepts such as earning, spending, and saving.
