Multiple Disabilities Classroom: Employment Skills
The concept of the class's work simulation is to highlight the elements involved in gaining employment. Students will research and select job openings that align with their data/interests, complete required elements in the application process -Interview Prep -Mock Interviews -Professional emails, and accepting an offer/asking for feedback regarding growth areas.
Additionally, students will participate in varying tech roles, working to improve their internet navigation skills, research skills, analysis skills, digital citizen awareness/ability, technology skills and interpersonal skills.
The goal is to create a comprehensive project that reinforces the Digitability curriculum - digital literacy, social skills and job-readiness skills. The project will give students the opportunity to transfer what they have learned and apply it to multiple real-word scenarios.

After choosing their classroom’s Work Simulation project, students are “hired” for jobs and begin practicing workplace behavior, managing tasks, using tech skills for independence, self-advocating, self-regulating and more.
Digitability Work Simulations include Bankability, a virtual banking and workplace behavior program where students earn virtual dollars when they exhibit behaviors that will make them successful in the workplace and increase their independence. Using those dollars earned, students experience a modern banking app while learning the fundamentals of budgeting concepts such as earning, spending, and saving.
