Valentine's Task Cards
Objective
Students will practice their financial literacy skills by completing Valentine’s Day–themed task cards that require budgeting and money management. Students will apply their money skills to calculate costs, compare prices, and determine which gifts are within a given budget. Through this activity, students will strengthen decision-making, problem-solving, and real-world financial skills while practicing responsible spending.
Directions for this Extension Activity:
In this activity, students will use their financial literacy skills to budget for Valentine’s Day gifts. Students will review a set budget and examine different gift options, each with a listed price. They will calculate the total cost of selected items, compare prices, and determine whether the gifts fit within their budget. Students will decide which items they can afford, make purchasing choices, and explain their reasoning.
