Vacation Budgeting
Objective
Students will apply real-world budgeting skills by planning a vacation within a set budget. By making choices about destinations, transportation, and activities, students will practice evaluating costs, comparing options, and managing limited funds—strengthening their financial literacy in a fun, meaningful context.
Directions for this Extension Activity:
Students will use the Digitability Vacations catalog to select transportation, lodging, and activities that fit within their assigned budget. With differentiated worksheets, students of all ability levels will complete the activity by answering questions about pricing and staying within their spending limit. Teachers can guide students individually or in groups, based on support needs.
Incorporating Bankability
Students earn Bankability dollars for following directions, staying on task, completing their worksheets, and participating in class discussions. Current Bankability users can integrate these earnings into their classroom economy. No Bankability account?
