Back to School Ice Breakers
Objective
Students will build classroom community and practice interpersonal communication by engaging in a bingo activity based on internet experiences. They will demonstrate listening and speaking skills by asking and answering questions with multiple classmates. Students will also reflect on shared and personal summer activities, fostering connection and a sense of belonging within the classroom.
Directions for this Extension Activity:
In this activity, students will play a bingo game based on common internet experiences as a fun and interactive way to get to know their classmates. Each student will receive a bingo card filled with different activities students may have done on the internet. Students will walk around the room and ask their classmates if they have done any of the activities listed. If a classmate has done one, they will sign their name in that square. The goal is to fill a row, column, or diagonal with different classmates’ names. This activity encourages students to practice speaking and listening skills and build connections.
Duration: 25 minutes* [will vary based on students' level of need]
