October Week 3 2025

Bank Statement Review
Objective

Students will build financial literacy and recognize healthy money management habits by engaging in an interactive Bank Statement activity. Using either their personal Bankability accounts or a provided sample statement, students will learn how to read and interpret key sections of a bank statement, identify spending patterns, and reflect on their financial routines. Students will strengthen their ability to make informed financial decisions and take greater ownership of their personal finances.

Directions for this Extension Activity:

In this activity, teachers will use the provided posters and create “stations” around the classroom for specific financial questions. Students will be assigned to each station in a group and during their time at that station, students will read the question and write or paste their answers on the chart paper. Once their answer is recorded, students should review answers written by other students. Once all groups have visited all stations, students will participate in a quick debrief. Students will share what they notice about answers on each poster.

Duration: 25 minutes* [will vary based on students' level of need]

Incorporating Bankability:

Throughout this activity, students can earn dollars for staying on task, reviewing the sections of a bank statement, presenting to the class, and helping their peers during the activity. This encourages participation, positive behavior, and peer support. Current Bankability users can integrate these earnings into their classroom economy. No Bankability account?
