Objective

Students will build financial literacy skills by planning a pet adoption within a set budget. By calculating the costs of adopting a pet and purchasing necessary supplies, students will practice budgeting strategies and decision-making to stay within their financial limits.

Directions for this Extension Activity:

Students will review adoption scenarios and budgets, then determine whether they can afford a pet and its accessories without exceeding their budget. They will use provided worksheets to calculate totals, evaluate options, and discuss their financial choices as a class.
