Day 12 - Train Front-line Staff

Day 12 - Train Front-line Staff

In youth service provider organizations, it is imperative that staff have the knowledge, skills and abilities to effectively serve youth with disabilities, especially those transitioning from school to work. Key tools to assist in improving this capacity — during NDEAM and all year round — are available through ODEP's Center for Advancing Policy on Employment for Youth (CAPE-Youth).

About National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)

NDEAM is held each October to commemorate the many and varied contributions of people with disabilities to America’s workplaces and economy. The theme for NDEAM 2021, “America’s Recovery: Powered by Inclusion,” reflects the importance of ensuring that people with disabilities have full access to employment and community involvement during the national recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

About Digitability

Digitability is the only scalable, STEM-focused, pre-employment transition curriculum that continues to be recognized as an innovative solution to the unemployment crisis facing a large — and growing — population of those with disabilities, such as Autism, Intellectual Disability, or Down Syndrome.
