On January 2, 2018, Digitability, in partnership with the PA Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), officially launches the rollout of Digitability's pre-employment and transition work-ready training program for students age 14-21 with a disability in Philadelphia County.
You're invited to attend and meet educators and elected officials from across the city of Philadelphia. You’ll be able to see firsthand how Digitability's innovative training program is addressing the unemployment and underemployment crisis facing students with a cognitive disability.

About the launch event & why you should attend
Today, only 30% of people with a cognitive disability are employed. The term, "the cliff," is used by researchers to denote the drop-off of services to support people through their transition to our tech-driven economy. This means that about 70% of students in Philly are at risk of falling off of that cliff.
Digitability is quickly bridging the gap for students with neuro-diverse needs, preparing them with marketable skills and social capacity to obtain and sustain employment in our tech-driven and highly social economy. In fact, Digitability's first cohort of graduates achieved a 67% employment rate...and the program is only getting stronger as training expands with partner employers in the city.
Digitability, in partnership with the PA Department of Labor's Office of Vocational Rehabilitation is expanding the work-ready training program across the commonwealth, starting in Philly.
This event marks the launch of a scalable, innovative solution for people who have been traditionally marginalized and pigeonholed into unemployment or underemployment.
This launch event is hosted by Hill Freedman World Academy and Principal Anthony Majewski. The event will be presented by Michele McKeone, M. Ed., Founder + CEO of Digitability.

About Digitability's pre-employment transition program
Social skills, problem solving and self-advocacy do not happen in a silo; therefore they can not be taught in one. Digitability's one-of-a-kind program streamlines all of the necessary academic, social/emotional and vocational skills training needed for work-readiness and independence.
Individuals who participate in the Digitability program run the gamut; therefore, to create an inclusive environment, all of our resources are extensively differentiated to support a very wide range of learning and behavior profiles from adolescence into adulthood. Our unique model provides the necessary structure to promote generalization of skills that truly translate into independence.
